Bus Crash in Ankara Kills 9, Injures 26
Nine people were killed and 26 injured when a bus crashed through a highway bridge near Ankara, Turkey on Friday.
The bus was traveling between the cities of Istanbul and Ankara when it veered off the highway and slammed into the bridge.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Emergency rescue teams and police officers are working on the aftermath of the accident.
The crash occurred near the town of Polatli, some 80 kilometers from Ankara. The bus was carrying 35 passengers at the time of the accident.
The injured passengers were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The Turkish government has expressed its condolences to the families of the victims.
